Anna Rapp (00:27):
Hi friends. Today I want to talk to you and answer any of your questions that come up around how to get to 20 K months in your business. I did a talk recently on getting to 10 K months and the skillset behind that, and I really wanted to dive into 20 K months and really talk about mindset, right? Or, you know, I talked about how to get to 10 K, 10 k to 20 k, and this is really like 20 k plus. And the reason I want you to tune into this, even if you're not making 15 K yet in your business, is because I think it can be so useful to know what comes ahead in business. A lot of times we avoid breaking through the current thing that we're struggling with because we're afraid of what happens next, right? <Laugh>, we're afraid of that success, right?
Anna Rapp (01:14):
We're like, oh, I wanna get fully booked, but like, what happens when I get fully booked and then like my schedule will be filled up? And what if I'm a bad mom, right? And so if you're at that point in your business where you are maybe at like 5, 10, 15 k, but you're really not at 20 k, I wanna talk to you about what I'm working on with my clients that are beyond or at 20 k months and beyond. So you can get a feel for, ooh, I could do that, I could master that. I could, I could I could get that down. But of course, I, I wanna hear your questions on this too. So if anything comes up for you as I'm sharing this episode, please stop me and ask me. Email me however you'd like to contact me, DME Dion, Instagram.
Anna Rapp (01:56):
But it's a conversation. I did a podcast episode recently with my amazing client, Caitlin Kirk, and she talks about this, right? She was really able to scale her business all the way up to past 20 K months. And she brought up an interesting concept and you know, you hear the word mindset work a lot. What is mindset work? But she made me think about how I really do mindset work in two different ways with my clients that are past 20 K months. And I think both of these are equally important and that is doing mindset work on your own and doing mindset work with a coach. And I wanna talk about this today. I wanna talk about how I do this in my own business, how I encourage my clients to do this. But I really feel like this is a, is important at every level in your business, but especially when you're past 20 K months and you're scaling beyond that, it just becomes more and more important to do that. And I'll share with you how I do both of those for myself and then with my clients. So how I do my daily mindset work,
Anna Rapp (02:58):
Basically as an entrepreneur, our schedules are really free and open, which is wonderful, but it also means that there is not a lot of structure or stability. And so doing daily mindset work or a daily check-in, I told one of my best friends the other day, the reason it's important to check in and write down your thoughts every day is so that you can hear your voice and listen to what you're thinking. We listen to so many voices throughout the day on social media, our best friends, right? There's so many voices in our world and how often do we stop and listen to our own thoughts, right? So I do a daily check-in. You guys might do it too. It's six questions. I call it the daily check-in. It's a free Google doc. I will share the link to it, but it is six questions that I stop to ask myself almost every day.
Anna Rapp (03:44):
First one is pour it out. Just allowing myself a blank page to pour out what's on my heart and the bigger your business is, right? And usually when you're past 20 K months, you have a decent sized team, there's just a lot more spinning on your plate that you can't disclose, right? There's a lot more happening privately in your life and in your business. And so having that poured out section is just so key. And I don't even usually write complete sentences. I just kind of like start writing down things I'm thinking or feeling or like it's not a pretty journal. Okay? <laugh> fears, I'm feeling hesitations in my life, in my business, our, as females, most of us have diffused thinking, which means that we don't have a particular focus. Our thoughts are all over the place, right? And so it's just that error where I'm just allowed to pour it out and it is so healthy to have that space every day, every day, every day.
Anna Rapp (04:38):
Other sections are poured out. Affirmation. So I'm affirming and having my goals top of mind. Whatever it is for motherhood, whatever it is for business. I also have them for dance cuz you guys know I dance a lot, <laugh> affirming what I wanna call into my life. I also write down my gratitudes. I write down my wins, what I'm proud of myself for. I write down my priorities for the day or like a little schedule for myself and I write down my prayers or the things I'm surrendering, usually sit in that corner over there and I do it <laugh>. And it is so important to have that daily time to check in with yourself, right? To really process and plan and go day by day. You guys know for me, I really work part-time hours in my business. I mostly work Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, and I have a lot of free time, I have a lot of freedom.
Anna Rapp (05:24):
That's why I would do this, right? But I still check in daily even when I'm not having a workday because I really think it's just important for us to, to manage our thoughts. As you grow and scale past 20 K months, one of the biggest gifts you can give your business for your clients, for your team is being a rock, being stable, right? And I find that my stability comes through rhythm in routine and that daily check-in that every day, no matter how awesome or awful my day is going, I'm listening to myself, I'm checking in with myself and I'm taking that pause. So important, so, so, so important. Whatever you do to check in and feel a high vibe, right? I also count as mindset work. A lot of the other things I do, to be honest, part of the reason why I'm so happy is I have a lot, I have a boring happy life.
Anna Rapp (06:17):
That's what I call it. I dance for probably 10 to 15 hours a week <laugh>, right? I work out about eight hours a week, right? Like I do. And that really for me doubles up his mindset work. Because guess what, when I'm in that workout, all I'm doing is focusing in on my workout and I'm ki it's kind of like meditation where like I'm just in the moment in the workout when I am dancing. Ah. And I think as women, as I encourage all of my clients who are past 20 k months to find something, Caitlin talked about how she really uses volleyball, right? Or she's learning a language, right? I really think as women we have to kind of distract ourselves as we grow and scale our business or else we feel guilty for how little we're working and how much money we're making, right?
Anna Rapp (07:03):
I told this on a different podcast episode, but when I started working out in the mornings, I was like, oh, I could do Pilates at 10:00 AM right? I was really judging myself because I really judged the women that were like, who do you think you are doing Pilates at 10:00 AM right? Like, are you working hard? Right? All the judgements around what is it like when we are a woman that makes a lot of money and doesn't work a lot of hours, we have to face that, right? <Laugh>. So I think for me, you know, not only is my daily check-in that, but the more I've grown and scaled my business, really the more I've been able to step into mindset work. And basically mindset work is anything that makes you happy, grounded and centered and peaceful from within. We expect our businesses to bring us happiness and peace instability and sure, I love being on client calls, but like what happens when you have four client calls in a row where they're all having a hard day, right?
Anna Rapp (07:56):
So I just think it's like for me, the more stability I have in my life, the more stable my business becomes, the more peace I have in my life. I've even felt that after I bought this house, I felt a new level of stability when I had my divorce, I felt a new level of stability when I bought the house. New level of stability, right? The more stable and peaceful, because think about it, money is is energy, right? And so the more value you have to give, the more capacity, the more peace, the more value you're gonna be able to give to the world and charge money for it, right? And so I really feel like as my clients get beyond 20 K months, it really is encouraging them, especially because after they've gotten to that point, they probably have grown and scaled the team, right?
Anna Rapp (08:38):
So they're not doing as much of the work themselves anymore, right? So it's making sure with that free time you're not using it to sabotage your business, but you're actually going and living your happy life, right? Almost all of my clients work part-time hours at that point in their business when they're beyond 20 k k months, which is crazy. My clients at 10 k months are usually working way more hours than my clients are working 20 K months. But a lot of people don't wanna do master team <laugh> and do the hard work it takes to get to beyond 20 K, right? But I really feel like at 20 K it really is such a mindset game and it really is that, you know, if you can figure out how to have creative outlets that give you energy and stability, and again, like for me like when I dance 10 plus hours a week, right?
Anna Rapp (09:23):
Probably more like 10 to 20 it really is brings me peace and happiness and stability that I bring to my clients, that I bring to my business, that I bring to my content, right? But if you don't, then you're gonna be doing things outside of your business that stress you out and mess you up and then you bring that bad energy into the business, right? Does that make sense? So, okay, that's part one, your own mindset work. And again, my mindset works look like my daily check-in, it looks like dancing, it looks like working out. All those things make me happy, make me grounded, make me more peaceful, give me energy, light me up and you bet your booty. I bring that into my business and that it makes a big difference, right? The other half and I would say half is mindset work with my coach.
Anna Rapp (10:12):
So what that means is that I have standing sessions with my coach, right? And that even when I'm in a bad mood, I still meet with her and I'm talking about my business in life for an hour. That is mindset work. That's the biggest thing about sell with heart that I love is those girls come to those weekly coaching sessions and even when they're like in a horrible mood, they might just say like, okay, I'm here for the call but I don't feel like talking. I'm just gonna soak in the good vibes, right? I'm just gonna like listen to the other strategies. And I think the cool thing about having a coach is sometimes it's hard to do mindset work on our own, especially when we're in that messy season of not yet past the 10 K months, right? It's hard and it's challenging. And so the cool thing about having a coach is it's a little bit of extra accountability for the mindset session because you don't have to show up for your daily mindset work.
Anna Rapp (10:55):
You can just show up to the group coaching call. And a lot of times they have the girls like do their daily check-in right there, or they're pouring it out in session, right? Coaching is mindset work is c e o work, right? Otherwise, if you don't have a coach, you're everything is, you're just running your business by emergency. What? What's popping up in your email inbox, right? Instead of that coach that's reminding you no, do this thing that's gonna pay off in three months, do this thing that's gonna pay off in six months. Prioritize this right? Process this. How are you feeling? Where are you winning? If you think about my daily check-in, it's really essentially what I do with my coaching clients, right? What are your priorities that you need to be doing to make money? Are you selling, are you getting visible? Are you hiring the team member?
Anna Rapp (11:40):
Right? Really prioritizing, really what are your wins? Yes, I know you've got more to go, but what are you proud of yourself for? Right? And I do think that that is one of the biggest gifts of a coach is it really forces you to do the mindset work. And for my clients that are past 20 K months, I really find that they, they use our sessions as that it is their place to process and they just get better and better at faster at pouring it out, at owning the wins, at talking about their priorities, right? Talking about their blocks. And so that is your work, my love, <laugh>. I hope this was helpful for you, especially whether you are working on getting past 20 K months or whether you are still getting to it, but so that you know what's ahead. And I would encourage you to ask yourself, what do you need more of in this chapter of your business?
Anna Rapp (12:28):
I think you need both always. Honestly, I think you always need to save sounding board, but I think you always need to tune into your own heart cuz you are the c e o at the end of the day. No one knows your business better than you. So it's like always having that self-trust, always having that daily check-in. But also being able to have a coach that knows you intimately could call you out on your BS. Because we also have fears, we also have blocks we get in our own way. And so it does help for someone that knows us to be able to call us out on stuff. That's why I keep cell with heart so small, to be honest. Why the pods are always under 10 women. Because you really do deserve someone that knows you intimately, that can reflect to you, that can kick your booty, that's helping you come up with a really clear business plan and strategy that matches your personality, that matches your skillset, right? If you would like more influenza with heart, feel free to message me. Next round of the Mastermind is opening and I would love to have you as a client, I'd love to be in your corner and cheer you on.
