Overwhelmed by Content Creation? Try These Three Tips.

Hey, heart-centered lady. Is creating content in your business bogging you down? Is even the thought of creating content exhausting and overwhelming? Well, this is the right video for you, today. I'm going to talk you through three tips that will help make the process of creating content less exhausting and more enjoyable in your business. Let's get started.

1. Avoid the “SHOULDS” in Business

The first thing I want you to remember is this: when you think through any part of your business, remember that it's your business, and you can do it in a way that lights you up and that you enjoy! Especially as we traverse through this intersection of what works for me/my life, and what do my clients need/what works with them. We're allowed to run our business any way that we want. That is the blessing of running our own business.

We get stuck the rut of “I should do it this way” or “so and so does it that way.” When it comes to creating content, when it comes to running your business in general, you're the CEO and you get to decide how you do it.

2. Lean into Your Strengths

Practically, what does this look like? It looks like running your zone of genius when it comes to content creation, especially where you primarily create content. For me, right now in this season, I'm creating a ton of videos, because I like them, and because it's a lot quicker for me than other types of content. But that doesn't mean that you have to create videos for your business. Maybe you love writing, or maybe you love doing audio clips. Really lean into what is enjoyable and non-draining for you, and do that. That's important.Let me give you an example from my business to illustrate my point. At this point in my business, I create a lot of content ahead of time. I used to create it more week by week. I would mostly plan the themes ahead of time, but when it came to actually writing the content, I would it weekly, or sometimes, day by day. That’s okay! In the start of your business, it makes sense because you're still feeling out what your niche is, or your messaging. You're feeling out your audience along the way, and honestly, I enjoyed that. I felt a lot more in tune with my audience, and I felt like I was ensuring that what I was delivering met a real tangible need. In the beginning of my business, that really worked for me, and there is nothing wrong with that. But now that I'm in this phase of my business, I'm enjoying creating content ahead of time; it's less exhausting for me. It's less overwhelming and less draining. So, really looking the current season of your business: what would be the least exhausting and overwhelming way to create content? That's the first tip.

3. The Give & Receive Balance

When you create content, I want you to think of it like a give and receive. You obviously want to give value, and really give generously in your business, but you also want to make yourself available to receive in many ways, especially when it comes to sales.

We want to make sure that all of our content we create is both intentional and also centered around our business goals.

Maybe it's selling a certain product or service. But we need to make sure that we're creating our content so that it's setting us up to receive income. Often, I hear women say, “I don't want to sell” or “I don't want to offer my services”. But yet, they also feel resentful, thinking things like, “why isn't anyone buying from me?”.

We have to be available to let people know how they can buy from us.

This doesn't mean that we're twisting their arm or forcing them to; we're just giving them the option. We're saying this is what I have to offer, this is how you can purchase it, and this is how much it would cost, making it a really seamless transition if they would want to buy from us. We want to avoid making it complicated or difficult for our potential clients. If you have a business that you believe in or product that you believe in, this should be fairly easy, because you truly believe - from a heart-centered place - that this other person you're selling to would be better off with your product or service. I want you to mirror that in your content. I want you to make sure the content you're creating is setting you up to be able to receive in your business. I want to make sure that you're creating content that prepares people to buy your products and services.

Batching ContentI know I said before to lean into your zone of genius, but even if you're someone who likes to go day by day or moment by moment, we can always do some form of batching things together at once. Maybe you like to write your post day by day, but you would benefit from planning your weekly or monthly theme ahead of time. I would think through what, in my business, I would enjoy getting out of the way and done ahead of time. Pay attention to things you kind of dread. If there's something that everyday in your business you dread, that is definitely something you should consider batching and preparing ahead of time so you're not feeling exhausted having to do that mundane task day by day. This leads beautifully to a free downloadable workbook that I created for you, and you can find it at www.ContentMiracle.com. I laid out for you how I create one piece of content and turn out into ten pieces of content through repurposing. That's a huge way I am able to be present and consistent in my business without being exhausted or burned out. Creating one piece of content - like this video - that is kind of in my strengths, something I enjoy, and then, using automation and outsourcing in order to turn it into ten pieces of content that really serves my audience in my business. I would love to hear from you in the comments below. Let me know what you do when you're feeling exhausted and overwhelmed by content so that you can still show up and create consistently in your business.
